The COPP-study is a nation-wide multicenter hospital-based prospective cohort study. From 2020 until January 2023, we studied severe pediatric COVID-19 and COVID-19 associated Multi-system Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C). For information, see www.covidkids.nl.

Since January 2023, we study invasive group A streptococcal disease in children.

What does it mean to participate in the COPP-study?

• We would like to collect clinical data about the course of disease of your child. Until January 2023, we collected information on children with COVID-19 or MIS-C. Since January 2023, we collect information on children with group A streptococcal disease.
• This information is collected by your treating pediatrician and entered into a secure database, without identifying information. The researchers of the COPP-study only have access to the coded clinical data.
• The clinical data includes presenting symptoms, prior history, laboratory values during illness and course of illness.
• If you want, you can sign up for follow-up studies.
